About this deal

everything else, the soundtrack is a mixture of classical music and distorted guitar, and let me tell you, it does it so well, the movie is filmed in a documentary style which works well.

Unlike other genre pictures, such as the flaccid Dawn of the Dead remake, 28 Days Later is actually trying to say something. My guess is that this release was mostly done as a tie-in for the film's sequel, 28 Weeks Later, and less as a tent pole release for the format. But in this case, the destruction has been externalized, turned outwards back on the society that created it. Shocked, Jim attempts to escape with Selena and Hannah, but is captured by the soldiers, along with Sergeant Farrell (Stuart McQuarrie), who disagrees with the Major's plan.

It's well assembled, it's not tacky, it has an impact (even on this horror veteran) and is a rollercoaster ride like a good horror should be. It was shot largely in standard definition digital, as has been stated already the uptake in quality is very obvious in scenes filmed with suitable equipment. First off, directionality is slightly off in several scenes, and the design occasionally places rear sounds into all the channels for an artificially increased effect. Shaky colors and wavering contrast combine to create a painful, two-dimensional picture -- one that is further flattened by the consistent presence of intrusive artifacts. In director Danny Boyle's ground breaking take on zombie horror, 28 Days Later, a deadly 'rage' virus transforms the world into a seemingly desolate wasteland.

I love the whole intensity of the blood thirsty rage virus sufferers who go round literally making London a living hell and nightmare that's totally unimaginable in our reality as we know it! Director Danny Boyle ('Trainspotting,' 'Sunshine') doesn't coat the streets in blood or awaken our hero in the midst of anarchy. Edge haloes became a consistent distraction, and much of the movie suffered from blockiness, jaggies and shimmering. This is a tale of survival and ultimately, heroics, with nice subtext about mankind's savage nature.
