Cooking Mama (Nintendo DS)
About this deal
And with a table full of hungry guests waiting to sample your efforts, you’d better hope your skills as a master chef are up to scratch! Each of these tasks is performed by completing a mini-game which usually lasts less than 10 seconds.
The island is ripe for exploration and on your vacation in the wilderness you’ll find hundreds of minigames, explore 38 levels full of traps and quests, and collect treasure for your holiday scrapbook. The series' gameplay structure consists of the player progressing through a series of short minigames. Following the instructions of the titular " Mama", the player uses the stylus or finger to chop vegetables, slice meat, flip food in pans, and arrange the final items on the plate.
Cooking Mama's ingredients (we hesitate to use the word 'features') include a variety of gameplay modes, including over 200 mini-games and a practice mode where you decide what to cook, how long to cook it for, and how to present it. The game is a watered down version of the first Cooking Mama game and only featured one recipe: Hamburger Stewed in Tomato Sauce.
Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends, the second Nintendo DS game in the series, was first released in November 2007. Don’t worry too much though, if you keep your eyes peeled, you can replenish your health by finding hearts in trees, in the grass, and plenty of other places too.
This game introduced several of Mama's friends and family, along with the feature to decorate recipes with stickers in a special album. Under Mama's watchful eye, players must first prepare ingredients, then combine, cook and present the final meal all via the touch screen.
