About this deal
This item is used and in a fair condition, it may have deep scratches, dents, screen burn, cracks or bends that will not hinder the use of the product. This is because it was processing all the failed recordings so that they could be indicated in the Recordings Menu. Others, like the religious channel SBN, are live streams with individual programmes listed in the guide. Turning the machine on (blue light) instantly brought back the picture, I then decided the machine probably must have to be left on.
It switches on quickly and the EPG comes on immediately, you can still see and hear the channel you're on whilst looking at the EPG and the remote is dead easy to use. Skipping forward (or back) is surprisingly smooth, and playback will stutter for less than a second. When trying to set a recording that clashed with two other recordings, one of which was the second part of a split event, the system would fail to present the Recording Clash prompt and the event could not be booked. Once you see a show you’re interested in, you can either set a reminder for it – which will pop up once you’re watching other channels – or ask the T2-R to record it. To change inputs, most TV remotes use a button labelled ‘AV’, ‘SOURCE’, ‘INPUT’, or with a TV icon and arrow.Another important aspect are the subtitles – if you watch a show with subtitles (which can be turned on and off easily with a dedicated button), recording that show will keep the subtitles available – and you can again turn them on and off with the press of a button.
I couldn't see anything about manual tuning (I live in a three-way transmitter overlap area, so auto tuning never seems to get things right), CEC and a few other bits. I found the remote intuitive, I set up the machine and the channels and worked out how to record in well under an hour.As you would expect, playback also lets you fast forward and rewind, and by pressing the “Right” button you can also instantly jump 30 seconds ahead – which is wonderful for skipping those annoying adverts. Recording is a doddle, bring up the guide, choose the programme and just press one red Record button - all record options are also done through the one red button, you can also record two programmes at the same time.
After watching a recording of a live programme (chase playback) to the end, when next using live pause, it could freeze and then fail to respond until a restart. After discussion with Arqiva (who manage the UK’s broadcast infrastructure), we implemented improved behaviour on our latest T3-R model. You’ll always be entertained with 70 TV channels, 15 HD channels and 25+ radio stations from Freeview. The following day, even when the machine wasn't recording, the interference was so great we could not watch the TV. Note that to watch TV while the PVR is off, you may need to turn off the PVR's power-saving / ECO options.
It has the capability to record two channels whilst watching a previous recording, it buffers up to two hours of live TV with this buffer being able to be saved to the hard drive as a recording. The Full Retune completely removes the existing channel database and is necessary when the T2-R is moved to a new region (e. Fixed an issue whereby seemingly randomly, channels would be removed during the Automatic Service Update in standby. The product will be fully working, without a box and will not contain any of the original accessories.
The Go To prompt can now be shown at any time when playing back a recording by pressing the yellow button. It will be a fully working product however its likely the original accessories maybe missing or would be replaced by 3rd party or compatible items. So if the reception goes bad – for example if you move your aerial, or during a bad thunderstorm – you’ll find out later that you have a stuttering, garbled recording. It's a bit of a pain having to manually select the correct HDMI input if you have been using another device (such as a blu-ray) previously. Of course, WiFi would have been a nice touch, but upping the costs mainly for software updates is indeed not very cost-effective. Followed the internet instructions and downloaded the updates as stated, plugged in - machine said there was no USB connected, took it out, machine said USB disconnected - what? Fixed an issue when using the T2-R with a Pioneer VSX-920-K AV receiver that caused the audio to be lost.
