About this deal

Pinky has some issues focusing as she is always concerned with what her neighbor is doing, she calls him TWO. So while she is half focused on the case at hand she is also focused on TWO, you have to wonder why? Eventually, things pull together. There are at least two of Robert's works that he wrote from the heart, with visible love and wonder and care, my very favourites:

Kate Waters is a journalist and a motivated one at that. She jumps to cover the events in this disappearance; however, this case becomes personal to her because her son has been missing for two years, also while traveling. Kate becomes close with the families as her means of getting at the true story, but she has no idea what she has stepped into by making this move. Thank you to Edelweiss, Penguin Books and Fiona Barton for providing me with an ARC to read and review.La Plante’s influence on the crime drama genre cannot be overstated. Her strong female characters and gritty, realistic depictions of police work have inspired countless writers and filmmakers. She has also been an advocate for women’s rights and has used her platform to raise awareness about issues like domestic violence and sexual assault. Suspect keeps the readers on the edge of their seats from prologue to end. Some parts are even the kind that prompts us to bite our nails. I also liked the chapters that present what's happening from Maggie's point of view.

Thank you so much to Elisha at Berkley Publishing Group and to Fiona Barton for the opportunity to read an advance reading copy of this novel. The worm of this book infected me long ago when, as a national newspaper journalist covering notorious crimes and trials, I found myself wondering what the wives of those accused really knew – or allowed themselves to know. Two-times Gold Dagger winner (2015 and 2020), twice Edgar best novel finalist (2016 and 2020) and winner of the Ian Fleming Steel Dagger (2021), Michael Robotham was born in Australia in November 1960 and grew up in small country towns that had more dogs than people and more flies than dogs. He escaped became a cadet journalist on an afternoon newspaper in Sydney.

A truly fabulous evening with masters Robert Crais, Joseph Knox and Abir Mukherjee at Waterstones in Staines - The behavior of those who were grieving left me baffled (and yes, I do have experience in this area). When two eighteen-year-old girls go missing on their gap year in Thailand, their families are thrust into the international spotlight: desperate, bereft and frantic with worry. Somewhat funny... one of my favorite quotes is from when one character describes another as being mentally inundated with 'PES' - Piles of Erroneous Sh.it. I about died - the book had been so serious it was a nice break!
