About this deal

To carry the burden that Kaneki carried before he turned into a ghoul was already taxing. He was an orphan with a relative who didn't care about him. But once Kaneki decided to shoulder the burden of essentially the entire 20th ward, he turned into a tragedy-just-waiting-to-happen.

Tokyo Ghoul leaves you with lot of unanswered questions and I'm excited to read further to know what happens in Re. Tokyo Ghoul is definitely in one of my top 10 manga reads of all time and the fastest i have ever completed an entire manga. Really cool fight scenes. Like really, really cool. I would love to see how they animated the Kagune fights. What happened to Hide? Is he pro-ghoul or anti-ghoul? Was he eaten? Did he survive the battle? Was he even at the battle or was Kaneki hallucinating? If he was there, why the hell was he there?

Table of Contents

Things start to seem too good to be true when the shy and socially awkward bookworm Kaneki scores a date with the girl of his dreams, a beautiful, mature and intelligent young woman named Rize. Not only is Rize completely out of Kaneki’s league, but she also happens to share his infatuation with complex horror literature and philosophy. Things seem to be going unusually well for Kaneki, but it turns out that his lovely date is only interested in his body—eating his body, to be more specific. (And not in the hot kinky way either.) As Haise confronts Shuu, Eto, the leader of the Aogiri appears to intervene, and Haise regains his lost memories as Kaneki, becoming stronger than ever, enough to defeat Eto, although she manages to escape. In the occasion, he also allows Shuu to flee after remembering about him as well. Upon confirming that Eto is in fact his favourite author Sen Takatsuki, Haise exposes and arrests her, but complies with her request to make one last statement to the press, in which she reveals to the world that she is a ghoul. Meanwhile, on a recoinassance mission to the headquarters of Aogiri Tree, Mutsuki is captured by Torso.

Tldr: I liked the series, but it definitely has its flaws. Will I end up reading Tokyo Ghoul:re? Maybe just to get some answers to the questions I was left with. Fair warning, the anime is very different from the manga, so don't go in expecting quite the same experience. Me gusta el capítulo con el que inicia este tomo por el simple hecho de que muestra todo el caos que causó el monstruo que ahora es Kaneki. There were times that it felt like the plot depended on characters not using any common sense, which can be frustrating.Chapter 153 → ◙ I knew it would end up like this. Of course, the final 'battle' would be between the Qs. Between the doves dealing with "The Owl" to Ken facing off against Ayato after Ayato tortures his sister and defeats her. That's okay though because Kaneki will handle him by breaking 103 bones in this fools body. Shit is violent and wonderful. Oh and we also get some HUGE changes that'll effect the rest of the series. What happened to Dr. Kanou and the Aogiri Tree? Why were they experimenting on humans? Are they still experimenting on humans and ghouls? Eto Yoshimura (aka Ten Takatsuki) being the ONE-EYED OWL. I mean WTF?! Where did this come from?! I know in the previous volume it was mentioned that the one-eyed owl might be related to Mr. Yoshimura buuuut...did we ever find out that he had a daughter? And why her? I mean...it could have been ANYBODY. I just wasn't expecting that... Ken Kaneki is an average college student - albeit a bit bookish and quiet. His best friend, Hide, is the closest person he has to family.
