About this deal

Made from beautiful birch wood, these needles are strong and sturdy, yet still lightweight and easy to use. With a smooth, polished surface and a tapered point for precise stitching, these needles are the best option for any knitters looking for the perfect wooden needle. They definitely provide an excellent knitting experience!

Wooden knitting needles come in many colours and styles, so you’re sure to find one to suit your taste. For knitting beginners, wooden needles are probably the best choice. Bamboo, birch, ebony, and rosewood are very common. They have a nice warm feel to them and generally will feel very comfortable in your hands. They are usually very light. This will be a real benefit for beginners who usually start with needles in bigger sizes. The wood typically has nice friction, which prevents stitches from falling off and will help you create neat stitches. Important note: I don’t believe there is a single best needle. All knitters are different. If someone tells you, this is the best needle, then they are always talking about their own preferences. The way you hold your hands and the tension you apply to your yarn matter just as much as the yarn itself and pattern you are working with. Since they are memory-free, you can store them coiled up, and they will not retain the coiled shape when you use them. A special sort of double-pointed needle is the cable needle, which can be used to temporarily hold stitches when knitting cable patterns. The ideal length of your knitting needlesCircular needles aren’t just for knitting in the round. You can knit flat pieces on a circular needle, which is great if you’re making large projects like blankets. When knitting flat, you must have room for all of the stitches to fit on the length of the needle, and for larger projects, this is not possible with straight needles. A long circular needle can easily fit all of your stitches onto the needle, even for large projects. If you’re a more experienced knitter, the smooth surface makes it much easier to knit faster. The coating helps the stitches glide across freely. If you’re working with a slippery yarn, like silk, there is still a little friction so stitches won’t slip off. Durable I personally usually use the European system the most, as it is the clearest, and I see a lot of patterns agreeing with me. If a pattern says “size 5” it can be quite confusing because you might not know if that’s a UK size, a US size, or an old US size. Bamboo needles, for example, usually do not have a coating, so their surface is not as smooth as laminated birch. Without that smooth coating, there’s more friction on the surface of bamboo knitting needles. With more friction, it takes more effort to slide the stitches across the needles as you knit. This can be an issue with any wooden knitting needle that does not have a coating on it. So in my opinion, laminated birch is the best needle material for those who prefer wooden knitting needles. They have interchangeable circular knitting needles, double pointed needles, cable needles, fixed circular knitting needles, and straight single point needles. Anyways, for knitting beginners, I recommend medium-sized needles. That means around 4-5 mm or US size 6 to 8. It’s an advanced knitting technique that requires quite a bit of control over your work and delicate yarn tension, so I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners. These needles are usually fairly short (10-20 cm). This makes it even easier for your work to slide off. You can read my review of the best double-pointed knitting needles here. Note: There are a needles made of natural materials as well. Most specifically bone and horn (like porcupine needles). As these are not readily available in western knitting shops, I am not going to discuss them here. anyway that is just my experience I hope it helps someone and thank you again Norman for providing such a wonderful space for knitters! Reply when I first started knitting I did not know that I could use circular needles to knit flat – and I had only a few sets & I didn’t understand that I COULD knit that pattern that was knit flat with my size 7 circulars- I didn’t need to go buy straight size 7s … I just always try to tell new folks because when you first start you don’t know if you will love it and you don’t want to invest in tons of needles! On the ends, there’s a threaded connection that screws into the metal end of the needle tip. Sometimes, people have issues with the needle tips coming unscrewed from the cable as they knit. But if you use the included tightening keys to connect the needle to the cable, this won’t happen. Although most knitting needles have a round needle shaft, several companies have designed needles with a square shaft to give you a slightly better grasp on the needle. Whether a square needle is best for you will depend on your personal preference, so I would recommend trying one out before taking the plunge and buying a whole set.

Our wooden knitting needles consist of high quality birch wood. Birch wood is first of all a very strong material, which has made it possible to shape the tips as fine and sharp as possible. This makes it easier for you to get all the stitches when you knit. As an added bonus, knitting needles of birch are comfortable to knit with. They fit perfect in your hands and then they are almost silent. There’s a small hole that runs through the metal cable connectors on both the needle tips and the ends of the cables. The small tightening key is like a pin that you can insert into these holes. The tightening keys give you a better grasp and something to twist against so you can make sure the needle and cable are screwed together securely. Square or Round Needle Shaft At the very end of this guide, we have to talk about the length of your needles. Knitting needles don’t only come in different sizes, but also in different lengths. There are several types of wood used to make knitting needles. Laminated birchis one of the best because of its smooth coating. This smooth finish doesn’t prevent the stitches from sliding easily across the needles like other uncoated wooden needles. There are other types of wood used for knitting needles that also have a coated finish. However, they are usually much more expensive than laminated birch. They grip the yarn more effectively than metal needles. This makes them a great choice if you are working with a slippery yarn or tend to drop stitches! So if you’re looking for one set of needles that can do everything, a set of interchangeable needleswill be the best knitting needles for you. An interchangeable needle set with a good range of sizes will give you all the tools you need for any type of knitting project you’d like to make. Short Interchangeable Circular Knitting Needles
